By using brazed plate heat exchangers, the cooling performance can be improved cost-effectively in a smaller area. The BPHE solution replaces a single large oil circuit with two smaller circuits (one for oil and the other for ethylene glycol), with multiple advantages. Since the turbulence through each BPHE is large, heat transfer can usually be improved. In addition, the two-circuit solution requires smaller pumps and air coils, and lower purchase and operating costs.
