Selection criteria for plate heat exchangers

1. The control parameters of the plate heat exchanger are heat exchanger material, working pressure, design temperature and so on.
2. When selecting the heat exchanger, the flow rate should be as large as possible on the side with small heat transfer coefficient, and the heat transfer coefficient on both sides of the two fluid heat exchange surfaces should be equal or similar to improve the heat transfer coefficient. The temperature of the fluid heated by the heat exchanger should be 10 ° C lower than the saturation temperature at the outlet pressure of the heat exchanger and should be lower than the operating temperature of the water pump used for the secondary water.
3. Fluid containing sediment should be filtered and passed to the heat exchanger.
4. When the plate heat exchanger is selected, the flow velocity at the interface of the side fluid with a small temperature difference should not be too large, and the pressure drop should be met.
5. For the case where the flow rate is large and the pressure drop is small, the plate type with low resistance should be selected. Otherwise, the plate type with large resistance should be selected.
6. Select detachable or welded according to fluid pressure and temperature.
7. It is not advisable to use a plate with too small a single plate area, so as to avoid too many plates, the flow velocity between the plates is small, and the heat transfer coefficient is reduced.
8. The heat exchange medium of the plate heat exchanger should not be steam.
